Lincolnshire – Move over village fete, there’s a new four-day extravaganza in town, and it’s decidedly not for the faint-hearted. Swingathon, Britain’s biggest swingers festival, has descended upon sleepy Allington (near Grantham) like a glittery hurricane, and the residents are either scandalised or secretly intrigued.
Running from Thursday 17 July to Sunday 20 July 2025, Swingathon 2025 drew in around 1,000 free-spirited revellers, nearly doubling its previous headcount, according to organisers. This isn’t just a wild house party: there’s a full-blown festival programme, with DJs, live music, acrobats, workshops, and yes, play tents, hot tubs, pole dancing, foam parties, mobile dungeons, and even a round of butt-plug bingo.
Festival founders Matthew Cole and his wife Stacie insist that Swingathon isn’t simply a horny good time, but also an inclusive and safe space. According to them, attendees are vetted before entry, consent is king, and personal responsibility is front and centre. They’ve even worked with sexual health charities to make sure the vibes are both liberated and sensible.
Lincolnshire Swingers
Organiser Kerry Voellner promised this year’s edition would be “bigger, better and bolder”, and she wasn’t kidding. Expect fire-breathers, pole dancers, acrobats, and a lush LGBT space with holistic workshops. Baby K, a festival art coordinator, told LADbible that this isn’t just about sex: “It’s a festival where adults can be adults” with DJ sets, chill zones and serious conversations about alternative lifestyles.
Still, not everyone in Allington is cheering. Some locals have slammed the festival as “seedy” and worry about the noise, particularly the rumoured moaning that echoes into the night. One resident griped that they didn’t sign up for Allington to become “the swingers’ capital of England.”
Even the authorities have had their say: in previous years, Lincolnshire Police flagged public safety and public nuisance as genuine concerns. On the other hand, the organisers report they’ve made real strides in local support, with council cooperation much stronger than in earlier editions.
Allington Swingathon
Festival-goers fork out around £200 for single tickets and £250 for couples, and they’re not shy about spending a bit more once inside. stalls sell everything from bondage gear to lingerie, spanking paddles to whips, all under the safe guise of “celebrating uniqueness.” The Saturday UV party is said to be a riot of glowing feathers, glitter, and neon-goodness.
For all the cheeky headlines, many attendees say Swingathon is far more than a “sex festival.” It’s a place to explore identity, connect with like-minded souls, and have fun in a judgement-free environment. “Friendships and relationships begin, rekindle and flourish,” says Matthew Cole.
What about 2026?
At time of writing, Swingathon organisers have not yet announced confirmed dates for 2026 on their website or ticketing pages. (Their 2024 and 2025 dates were mid-July, and the location isn’t publicly revealed until about 24 hours before the event, for security reasons.)
Whether you call it “Glastonbury with orgies” (yes, really) or a festival of true alternative freedom, Swingathon is stirring up the Lincolnshire countryside and it’s clearly not going away any time soon. Stay tuned.
